Artsmark Silver Award
Two years ago we started to work towards the Artsmark Award which is a programme that helps schools access resources and networks with the aim of strengthening their arts provision.
We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in gaining the Artsmark Silver Award!! A big thank you goes to our Art Coordinator Miss Boba and the rest of our staff in gathering evidence and coordinating events that have helped us gain the award.
We would also like to thank parents and carers for supporting us by attending our Art exhibition last year as well as our Sports Day opening ceremony and other events. Parents and carer also contributed by completed the Artmarks questionnaire that was sent out at the last year. So, once again, thank you for your support and engagement in activities arranged by us!
The Panel that reviewed our Artmarks submission made the following comment:
“Southcoates Primary Academy used their Artsmark experience to plan and reflect on their arts provision and generated very clear, realistic aims as a result. Already covering many of the foundations for Silver level in terms of range of offer and overall school commitment to theme based learning, Southcoates has succeeded in drawing out the arts elements within teaching and learning and finding ways the celebrate their impact and effect. This has resulted in connections to a wide range of projects and partners and increases in confidence among staff and pupils.”
We are proud to be awarded this as an external recognition of all we do in school around the Arts. The Artsmark Silver award is valid for 2 years and we can use the logo on our Academy logo.
